Hillsborough Adds General Election Early Voting Site At USF

Hillsborough County is adding another location to its list of 20 Early Voting Sites for November's General Election -- and it's one that might make many Bulls happy.

More than 60,000 people learn, teach or work on the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida -- and between October 22 - November 4, those who are registered in Hillsborough County will be able to vote there as well.

In July, U.S. District Judge Mark Walker ruled that early voting could take place on Florida's college campuses.

While the decision came too late for the Primary Election August 28, Hillsborough county officials and local politicians reached out to USF to gauge interest in an on-campus site.

Early voting will take place at the Yuengling Center -- formerly known as the Sun Dome. Any registered voter in Hillsborough, regardless of precinct, will be able to cast a ballot during the two week period.

"We have been working together to share information about voting with USF students for years, so this is a natural and very welcome extension of that partnership," said Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer.

Voting in the Primary Election and on Election Day November 6 will take place at the Marshall Student Center for people registered in Precinct #353.

Officials at USF St. Petersburg and USF Sarasota-Manatee say they have not been in touch with their counties' election supervisors.
