Encaustic paint, an ancient art medium made from melted wax and pigment, is incredibly versatile. There are so many ways it can be manipulated – painting, layering, embedding, incising, mark-making, and sculpting, just to name a few. Whether this is your first foray into the medium or you’re an experienced encaustic artist, together we will explore the world of encaustics and take your work to the next level! This eight-week course for beginning and advanced students will focus on incising, layering, mark-making, pigment sticks, mixed media collage, mono-types, and 3D works. Come join us for a waxy adventure!

You're invited to the 4th Annual Halloween Fest! The University of South Florida, the City of St. Petersburg, Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital and other community partners are joining together to invite community families to USF’s St. Petersburg campus for Halloween tent/trunk or treating; kids activities, a haunted house, and other spooky activities.

When: Thurday, October 30, 2025, 5 - 7:30 PM

Where: USF St. Petersburg campus,140 7th Ave S, HarborWalk

Who: The entire community is invited. Families with children (suggested age of 12 and under) are invited to dress in costume and join in the fun.

A perfect blend of all the FALL FUN and AGRICULTURE , this event offers a unique opportunity to engage with the rural beauty of our farm, join in lots of exciting activities and make A-MAZING MEMORIES with old friends, new friends and the whole family. Time for all the FALL FUN!  Take a FUN HAYRIDE around our farm, visit the FARM ANIMALS and check out our crop fields with Veggie and Flower U-PICK(when available). Have fun in the HAY PLAY AREA and HAY MAZE. Explore the TREE HOUSE and FUN FARM ACTIVITIES.  Hold on to your hats as you race  PEDDLE TRACTORS, and take aim with the PUMPKIN Launchers . Find your creative side in the FALL Craft ACTIVITY AREA. Treat yourself with some FRESH PRESSED APPLE CIDER,  FOOD VENDORS, our HARVEST BARN market and the beautiful *PUMPKIN PATCH. There is SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE of all ages!  Charge your phones and personal cameras there are lots of moments and photo opportunities to capture this FALL ON THE FARM.

Tampa Bay’s number one family-friendly Halloween event, Creatures of the Night, returns eerier than ever this fall. Perfect for all ages, the frightful, fun-filled event features howling outdoor experiences, amusing shows, spooky characters, creepy culinary treats and much more on thirteen select nights through October 26!
This year’s event features a new colossal adventure, Mesozoic Mayhem, a bone-chilling scare zone where ancient beasts roam once more and chaos ensues after scientists tamper with nature. Guests encounter life-size dinosaurs, creating an atmosphere filled with excitement and just the right amount of fright that proves that eerie fun never goes extinct.

Creatures of the Night takes place on 13 select nights in September and October from 4pm to 10pm.

Event nights are September 26 (members-only night), September 27, Oct. 3-4, Oct. 10-12, Oct. 17-19, and Oct. 24-26.

General admission tickets after 4PM are $29.95 (Friday & Sunday), $34.95 (Saturday), and can be purchased online at zootampa.org.
