'Time' Magazine Declares Rubio 'The Republican Savior'

time.com

Senator Marco Rubio has had his share of honors: He was chosen to introduce presidential candidate Mitt Romney during last year's Republican National Convention in Tampa. He's the subject of entire books. And on Tuesday Rubio will give the official GOP response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address.

Here's another feather in his cap: Time magazine is lauding Rubio as "the Republican savior."

In the Feb. 18 cover story, which Time posted on its website Thursday, writer Michael Grunwald declares Florida's 41-year-old Senator the "great Hispanic hope of the Republican Party," citing as evidence Rubio's immigrant roots, youth and charisma.

From his Twitter account @MarcoRubio, the Senator tweeted this response on Thursday: There is only one savior, and it is not me. #Jesus
