The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is taking the beam around the country to raise awareness of 9/11, when hijacked planes struck the Twin Towers and Pentagon.

The newly reconstructed WTC Cortlandt station opened on Saturday, just three days before the anniversary of the attack.

With its glittering spire now firmly attached, the new World Trade Center became the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere Friday morning.
