The private service was held Tuesday at Indian Rocks Baptist Church, where the wrestling icon was baptized in 2023. Security was tight and those not on the guest list were turned away.

Hogan died last week at age 71. The Pinellas-Pasco medical examiner ruled the official cause of death as a heart attack and added that the longtime wrestler previously had leukemia and atrial fibrillation.

Known for his charisma and catchphrases, Hogan helped elevate wrestling from small venues to massive stadiums.

Tributes came pouring in on social media following the death in Clearwater of Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea.

First responders were called to Hogan’s Clearwater Beach residence about a cardiac arrest. Hogan was later pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital, police said.
