The 115-year-old building, across Columbus Drive from the J.C. Newman factory in Ybor City, was once a gathering place for cigar workers. An $18.7 million renovation is underway.

After restoration is complete, the building — located across the street from Newman’s cigar factory — will include a 15-room inn, cigar bar, and cafe.
