USF president Moez Limayem used his first fall address to lay out an ambitious vision for the next nine years by growing the university and making it a model for higher education.

USF officials and local leaders gathered on Sept. 8 to kick off the redevelopment of a 30-acre site that was part of the college's defunct golf course.

The money is for key infrastructure and public safety improvements associated with the planned district.

USF's plan to turn their Claw golf course into the Fletcher District — a destination for students, faculty and staff — continues to move forward.

A final vote from the Florida Board of Governors is expected Nov. 6. Work on the 27-acre first phase could start this spring and be completed in 2028.
