Tree Canopy

In celebration of Arbor Day, as well as April being Earth Month, local cities and counties are giving away free trees.

Even though allergy season is almost year-round in Florida, spring is considered the worst season for pollen allergies due to the number of oak, pine and cedar trees.

Preservation of a healthy urban canopy can pay off, but issue has been a hot one in recent years.

Techniques focus on rapid growth of trees to solve a myriad of climate, ecological issues.

“Trees are an essential element of a community's health and of a resident's health as well," Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said.
