USF president Moez Limayem used his first fall address to lay out an ambitious vision for the next nine years by growing the university and making it a model for higher education.

The $33 million, 42,000-square-foot addition includes a Tampa General-funded simulation center, more clinical space and modern classrooms, supporting the goal of graduating 500 additional nurses by 2028.

The funding is part of a spending package enacted back in February, aiming to support seven different projects on all three USF campuses.

The university Board of Trustees voted unanimously give Moez Limayem a 10% performance bonus. The president also presented his vision for the 2026-27 school year.

Abraham Albadawi started a petition to demand accountability from the university. He remains concerned about implementation of the measures and the response process for when a threat is reported.

July 1, the beginning of the fiscal year, marks the day the 32-acre USF campus transfers to New College of Florida. However, NCF must take responsibility $53 million of USF debt by December or the deal is nullified.
